Local bowler Nicky Brett has become the first player to retain the Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish International Open title by defeating world number one Paul Foster in Perth for the second consecutive year.

In fact, the players have clashed in the final for the last three years, but it was Brett who took a 2-1 lead in their personal duel by coming from a set down as he did 12 months ago to take the title on a tie-break - 5-10, 9-6, 2-0.

Foster dictated affairs until the business end of the proceedings when Brett took the lead for the first time in the match on the penultimate end of the second set and dramatically turned the fortunes in his favour.
