The triples final will be an all-Stamford affair between Shirley Suffling’s rink of Jan Want and Chris Ford and Joan Robinson’s team of Moira Holroyd and Margaret Bloxham.

Shirley Suffling and Joan Robinson will also lock horns in the final of the senior singles after semi-final victories over Julie Masters and Chris Ford respectively.

NORTHANTS MEN

All the defending champions in the four men’s events in the Northants Bowling Federation indoor championships are through to the semi-finals.

Nick Wilkie, who won the pairs with Andrew Thurston last year, is through to the last four with new partner Joe Randall, while Neil Wright and Simon Law, teaming up this year with Howard Shipp, are through to the semi-finals of the triples after John Holroyd’s trio were disqualified for fielding a cup-tied player.

However, both the mixed pairs and mixed triples title holders bowed out at the quarter-final stage, Richard Allam and Ann Holmes losing 8-21 to Joan Robinson and Nick Wilkie, whose defence of the mixed triples title ended in a 15-17 defeat at the hands of Shirley Suffling, Richard Allam and Derek King.

The Stamford trio of Stephen Harris, Peter Edwards and Cliff Watson have booked their place in the triples final after defeating Colin Teat, Terry Corney and Pete Harvey 18-15 in the first semi-final to be played.
