A big win for McGinn sees Town to Finals Day
Star of the show for the city side was Dan McGinn who had to win his game at number one against his Southend opponent without dropping more than one set to send the team through by virtue of winning more sets than the other two teams in the group.
And McGinn stepped up in style to win 3-0 and send Town through to finals day in Birmingham next month.

Hide AdTown manager Graham Simms said: “Only the top eight clubs in the country get to finals day and we should be proud of what the lads have achieved.”
Town lost their first game in the competition to Moreton Hall, but Southend then beat Moreton hall to leave the group in the balance ahead of this battle at Bretton Gate. Town had to win, and win well to get through.
It didn’t start well for the four-man team with Jon Hand losing 3-2 after taking a 2-0 lead.
That meant Town had to win the three remaining rubbers so when hard-hitting Chris Reeve went 2-1 down the writing looked on the wall.

Next up was enigmatic talent Dan Soar who won 3-1, taking the last two sets of a punishing match 11-8 & 11-9 leaving McGinn his opportunity to steal the limelight.
Town lost at the quarter-final stage last season.
