Peterborough Athletic Club had plenty to celebrate at the Eastern Counties Championships on Saturday.
The best athletes from six counties descended on the university track in Cambridge and four PAC members reigned supreme.
Whittlesey-based Megan Sims, who will be a medal contender for Cambridgeshire at the big English Schools Championships in Gateshead in a fortnight’s time, scorched to victory in the Under 17 300m hurdles in a quick time of 46.42.
That win came hot on the heels of her outstanding run at the Anglian Schools Championships when she broke a championship record that had stood since 1994 with 45.51.
Sims then made it double gold at the Eastern Counties event by winning the 300m in 41.6.
Then on Sunday the weekend got even better for the 14 year-old Sir Harry Smith student when she returned to action with Enfield and Haringey.
She ran in the Under 17 300m hurdles in a UK Youth Development League meeting at Hendon and blasted out a new personal best (PB) of 45.06 to take second place.
Ella de Lucis and Daniel Mees are two more PAC athletes heading to Gateshead, and they also struck gold in Cambridge.
De Lucis stormed to victory in the Under 20 100m in 12.4 and followed up with a convincing win in the 100m hurdles in 14.7.
Mees won the Under 17 800m in a time of 1.59.0 and Amittai Ben Israel won gold in the Under 20 800m to make it a meeting to savour for PAC.
Georgie Ives Lappin was also a medal winner, taking bronze in the Under 15 girls 75m hurdles.
