More than 600 people entered this year’s Langtoft 10k road race and 3k fun run in May.

The proceeds of the event are always donated to charity, with thousands of pounds raised for good causes since it was first held in the late 1980s.

This year’s recipients were: Langtoft Pre-School, Langtoft Primary School, Bumps 2 Four, Langtoft Deepings & District Royal British Legion, Langtoft United FC and Deeping Tennis Club.

A record number of people entered this year and the Langtoft Road Run committee is busy planning for 2018’s race day, which will be the 29th event.

It will take place on Sunday, May 6th, with the 3k fun run starting at 10:15am and the 10k one hour later.

Online entries are expected to open in January, when the committee will also be launching a new race website.

Committee member Sue Archer said: “Race day is a much-loved event in the village’s calendar.

“It brings together people from Langtoft, but also many neighbouring areas.

“And as the race has grown in popularity over the past few years, runners have been coming from far and wide.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone again in 2018.”
