Paul Vernon’s domination of the 2014-2015 Frostbite League series continued to the very end.
The triathlete from the Peterborough Triathlon Club (PACTRAC) made it a superb six wins out of six when taking the honours in the last race in the series at Hinchingbrooke Park yesterday (March 1).
Once again he raced home well clear of the field of 357 runners. This time his winning margin was almost a minute as he finished in 27:08 with runner-up Lloyd Kempson from Nene Valley Harriers timing in at 28:05. Third was Anthony Johnson from Werrington Joggers in 28:14.
First lady home was Caroline Woods from Yaxley - she was 46th in 32:50 - while the junior race winner was Cameron Everist from Bourne.
Vernon becomes the third runner to win every race in the series. It was first achieved by Stuart Bogg from Werrington in the 1991-92 season and
then emulated twice by Pete Galpin from BRJ in both 1998-99 and 1999-2000.
