The highlight of the year was probably the club’s outstanding achievement in lifting the Southern League Division One title - a competition which features more than 100 athletics clubs from across the South of England.

Prizes were awarded for individual successes, and Cat Foley Wray was a deserved winner of the Mike Barnsdale Cup for the the best cross-country performance of the year after finishing 9th in the South of England Championships in January. Flo Brill was also nominated after a stellar season which saw her run the fastest leg of the day in the Under 13 age group at the English Cross-Country Relays.

The President’s Cup was awarded to 15 year-old throwing sensation Hannah Molyneaux, who has an impressive list of shot putt victories to her name, including the English Schools Championships and the National Championship, both indoors and outdoors,in her age group.

The club’s veterans also had a good year, and sprinter Dave Brown led the way by becoming a world record holder as part of the Great Britain 4x400 Over 40 team at the World Veterans Track and Field Championships.
