It’s hard to think of a better, more consistent lake in the country right now than the Beastie Pool at Decoy Lakes.

Some huge weights were recorded in the latest open match with Simon Dow putting a fine 211lb 10oz to the scales.

Drawn on peg eight he fished a variety of methods including pellet shallow and big baits in the margins .

Next came Martyn Freeman (199lb 14oz), Tony Evans (178lb 8oz) and Tony McGregor (164lb 2oz).


Top rod in the Ramsey match on Six Islands at Decoy was in-form Josh Pace with 134lb 10oz. Just behind was Vince Hull with 133lb 2oz followed by John Payne (113lb) and Andrew Rayment (99lb).
