JVAC had a full house on the Six Island Pool at Decoy and with a slight breeze blowing into the car park end that was obviously the area to draw.

There are so many good anglers fishing for the club it’s always going to be tight at the top, but matchwinner Kevin Wilmot was well clear at the final whistle putting 128lb 12oz to the scales from peg 21.

He was catching all day long, doing really well on caster fished shallow and then switching late on to dead red maggots in the margins.

Ron Gilbert took second place from peg 23 with 114lb 11oz followed closely by Chris Saunders on 110lb 12oz.

Whittlesey AA found the small carp more than willing to feed on the Damson Pool at Decoy Lakes.

Top rod with 138lb 8oz was Andy Lawrence, who caught on red maggot then cat meat in the margins.

Ted Rowe came in second with 107lb 6oz followed by John Hudson on 105lb 4oz.

Whittlesey rod Simon Godfrey won the £1,000 qualifier open at Rookery Waters on the Jay Lake with 83lb 4oz. Runner-up was Sean Higginbottom with 80lb 12oz.
