Wet and windy it may have been but Sunday’s JVAC match on the Oak and Yew pools at Decoy Lakes still produced some fine winter catches.
Leading the way on the Yew Pool was Huntingdon rod Will Hadley. He drew peg 21 and caught a mixed net of barbel and carp on a small pellet feeder to finish with 109lb 12oz.
Roy Whincup once again made the frame fishing the maggot feeder. He put 86lb 14oz onto the scales followed by Nick Carlton, again fishing a maggot feeder, claiming third spot with 77lb 13oz.
It was not quite as good on the Oak, but it was much closer at the top with Dave Parsons leading the way with 56lb 9oz from peg 19.
Second was Lee Kendal (55lb 1oz) and third Chris Baldwin (48lb 3oz).
Once again the tiny Factory Bank proved to be a real winner in one of the Ramsey & District Angling Society matches over the holiday period.
Leading the small but quality field was John Price with a 20lb 1oz catch of quality roach caught on pinkie over groundbait and hempseed.
Second was Paul Kilby over 400 small fish weighing 19lb 7½oz. Josh Pace was third with 18lb 5oz followed by Damien Green with 16lb 3oz.
