Have your say

The Hotpoint club were on the Six Islands Pool at Decoy for their latest match and I have to say I made a welcome return to form.

After weeks of poor results I managed to take the top spot with 86lb 10oz of carp from hot peg 18 fishing shallow with casters.

Pete Sanderson came in second from peg 17 with 84lb 10oz followed by Vincent Stapleton on 79lb 7oz.

The match was also a pairs event and I went home a double winner winning with partner Pete Howson with a combined weight of 136lb 2oz. Runners-up were Pete Sanderson and Dave Langridge with 135lb 13oz.

The weather played a major part in Sunday’s Cock Inn match fished on the Kingfisher Pool at Float Fish Farm Fishery.

The wind was at times difficult to deal with making it was hard work to present a bait.

Steve Smith fished pellet close in for 31lb 10oz to see off the challenge of runner-up Dave Overland on 25lb 8oz and Mick Sydney with 23lb 8oz.

The wind also spoilt sport forsome anglers fishing the Haddon Lodge match on Sunday.

Matchwinner Tony Moulds still managed a respectable 36lb 1oz net of carp and skimmers to top the field, most fishing falling to a pellet and pole approach.

Second was Christopher Fuller with 24lb 1oz and third Jack Keely with p 21lb 8oz.

In the Decoy Saturday Open on Lou’s Pool, Shaun Waterfall took top spot from peg six catching well on a short pole line with pellet and also into the margins late on with paste for 158lb 10oz.

Ian Chestney was second with 147lb 12oz followed by Des Proud on 119lb 15oz.
