Deeping St James fished the Match Lake at North View Fishery, Gedney Hill, on Sunday which saw Ray Torrington take first place with 59 lb 5oz.

He drew on peg three on the end of the first island and fished the early stages of the match on a Method feeder with hair-rigged pellet close to the island and then late on he managed to persuade a few carp to take cat-meat close in on the margin.

In second place was Andy Wilson on peg 12 with a level 59lb and third was Alan Jopling from peg one with 43lb 14oz.

There were no big fish about and it was again disappointing not to see many bream and tench.

But there were still some good weights in the latest Tydd Gote matches on the North Level Drain.

Don Green topped the Wednesday field with 9lb 3oz followed by Rob Wright on 6lb 6oz and Kevin Hunt with 6lb 1oz.

Sunday’s club match was won by Tony Mole with 11lb 10oz, followed by the consistent Andy Greenwood on 7lb 12oz and Ray Groom with 6lb 7oz.
