Deeping St James had a match on their club’s Horseshoe Lake at Wansford on Sunday and there were some very good nets of carp taken.

And there was none better than the 111lb 2oz catch taken by match-winner Tony Johnson on peg 15.

He fished a small feeder to the far side with most of his fish falling to a small white pop up boilie.

Runner-up was Dave Marzell on peg 38 with 43lb 10 oz and third was Mick Smith with 16lb 11oz.

Yaxley rod Stan Dow has been in a rich vein of form over the past few weeks at a number of venues and he continued his successful run at Float Fish Farm Fishery in the latest Over 55s midweek match on the Horseshoe Pool.

Dow fished the pole with meat and sweetcorn to finish top at the weigh-in with 37lb 10oz.

Tom Wilson from Spalding took the runner-up spot with 32lb 15oz, taken on a small feeder, followed by Vince Hull with 29lb 12oz.

Hull caught his fish on sweetcorn over hemp and pellet.
