In the Ramsey & District Angling Society club match fished on the Six Islands Pool at Decoy Lakes, two anglers stood out from the crowd, both putting a fine 80lb plus to the scales.

Top rod was John Price. He drew unfancied 23 and caught close in at four metres.

Most of his fish fell to red maggot and a few on expander pellet feeding micro and maggot.

His catch included carp and F1s plus some good quality roach for 89lb 8oz.

Runner-up with 81lb 4oz was Rob Wright. He drew peg 12 and caught on the feeder and his catch included a fine-looking carp of 15lb plus.

Gary Copeland was third with 61lb 12oz followed by Keith Rayment with a level 59lb.

Haddon Lodge was mostly sheltered from the worst of the bad weekend weather conditions and that was reflected in the results.

Out in front was Tony Moulds, who put a very respectable 41lb 7oz to the scales.

He drew close to the bridge and took a net of carp and skimmers on the pole with red maggot.

Runner-up was Jim Ayres, who caught well on pinkie for a weight of 22lb 4oz, followed by Lucio Melillo in third place with 17lb 3oz.
