Webb’s Angling Club were at Kingsland Fishery near Coates on Sunday and top rod was Andy Perry.
He finished with 67lb 2oz, all taken on feeder tactics, and he took fish going close to double figures with pellet his best bait.
John Woods came in second fishing the pole with red maggot for 50lb 11oz, then came Mick Linnell with 49lb 12oz, again fishing a small feeder.
A special mention should go to Lillian Wells, who celebrated her 80th birthday with a day’s fishing. The former ladies national champion did not disgrace herself either, putting a very respectable 22lb 3oz to the scales.
The recently formed Tuesday Club were at Lake Ross for their latest match and most went home very pleased with the form of the fishery.
After a difficult spell it looks as if the venue is back on top form and well worth a visit.
Way out in front was Alan Jopling with 130lb, all carp taken on the pole on pellet up in water.
Runner-up was Mike Smith with 97lb made up of carp and 17lb of some good roach all on maggot and worm, again up in the water.
Mike Mohan came in third with 58lb taken on meat close in.
