Sunday saw the start of the 10-match Cock Inn Four Island Winter League series.
The weather tried its best to spoil things, with constant sudden gusts of wind blowing across the lake making things hard for all anglers.
Despite this, the fish fed well all round the lake. There were lots of F1s, some carp up to 5lb, and quite a few barbel, some going 4lb.
Top rod from peg two was Steve Smith with 78lb 15oz of mainly F1s, a few carp, and several good barbel. Half the fish fell to a feeder fished towards the island with pellets, and the rest fell to maggot close in on the pole.
Runner-up was Chris Shortland with 55lb 1oz from peg 10. He fished a small feeder against the reeds. Third from peg four was Gary Sell with 52lb 12oz.
Webb’s AC fished the Horseshoe Pool at Float Fish Farm Fishery on Sunday and it was difficult to say the least.
Mick Linnell put a modest 28lb 12oz to the scales but it was more than enough for victory. Runner-up was Gordon Harmer on 25lb 8oz followed by Peter Telszewski with 20lb 14oz.
