The Cock Inn club were over at Gedney Hill on Sunday fishing the match lake at North View Fishery and there were good weights all round the lake.

Steve Smith made it two wins on the trot with a winning weight of 181lb 14oz from peg 11.

Half the weight came from a pellet feeder approach fished tight to the island, and the rest came from the margins on the pole fished meat. Second from peg 18 was Pete Sanderson with 139lb 11oz, taken on a small Method feeder, and third from peg four was Danny O’Brien with 102lb 5oz.

This was O’Brien’s first ever podium place and seeing as he’s been with the club since day one, he was over the moon to make the top three.

The charity match at Townsend Lakes in aid of cancer care at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn in memory of Ron Wesley raised £650.

Sam Hawks won it with 63lb 10oz followed by Ashley Kinsey (63lb 1oz) and Andy Adams (52lb).
