The Willow Pool on the Decoy complex fished a lot harder than expected on Sunday for the Hotpoint club match.

Even with a few pegs missed out there wasn’t one angler who broke the 50lb mark.

Top rod from peg 29, one of the fancied pegs, was Pete Sanderson with 44lb 12oz - all taken on a small feeder fished over to the tip of the small island.

Runner-up was Paul Faulkner with 43lb 6oz, all small carp, tench and barbel taken on the pole with red maggot, followed by Kev Larner on 40lb 2oz. He fished a Method feeder with pellet.

JVAC were on the Yew Pool at Decoy on Sunday and Barry Gilson drew peg 16 and took the top spot fishing the pole with sweetcorn for 128lb 13oz.

Runner-up from peg 13 was Nick Carlton with 117lb 5oz followed by Jim Regan with 115lb 4oz.

Fenland Rods fished the Beastie Pool at Decoy and there was no stopping Dave Garner on fancied peg eight. He caught well in the second half of the match on cat-meat close in to win with 116lb 9oz.

Runner up was Matthew Lutkin with 87lb 9oz and third Mac Campbell with 63lb 2oz.
