Taking the top spot in the regular Saturday winter qualifiers at Rookery Waters was Richard Bond.
He drew peg eight, which has not produced a decent weight for weeks.
Starting on a 16-metre pole line he fished bread up in the water to the reeds to catch carp to 3lb before switching to soft pellet at 13m which produced a better stamp of fish late in the match for a winning 88lb 4oz.
Mark Pollard caught on soft pellet over micros at seven metres for 61lb 11oz, then it was Geoff Arnold on 34lb 6oz.
Ramsey & District Angling Society fished their latest club match on Ramsey St Mary’s and Paul Kilby ran out a comfortable winner from fancied peg two weighing in 16lb 9½oz.
He caught most of his fish close in on the whip fishing pinkie and red maggot.
Runner-up on the next peg was Malc Sansom, who had a net of small fish for 9lb 8oz taken on the pole with pinkie.
Third was Ivan Steels with 5lb.
At Haddon Lodge, Martin Harwood returned to form putting 30lb 11oz to the scales, a net of carp taken on a small Method feeder with pellet hook bait.
Then weights fell away. Runner-up Martin Welch put 12lb 1oz to the scales followed by Tony Moulds on 5lb 2oz.
