Jason Lee has not fished for many years. Being a pilot for Easyjet he is so busy.

But on Sunday he made a rare appearance at Head Fen Fishery in the Fenland Rods match and caught all day on luncheon meat close in to top the field with 84lb 4oz. Also into the fish was his father Kevin, who had to settle for the runner-up spot with 75lb.

Then came Mel Lutkin on 69lb 12oz and Mac Campbell, fresh from his section win in the seniors national in midweek, with 62lb 4oz.

Martin Harwood returned to form in the latest Haddon Lodge match, catching carp on floating baits along with skimmers and roach on the pole with pellet for 36lb 5oz. Runner-up was George Bates with 25lb 2oz followed by Lucio Melillo with 9lb 10oz.

Webb’s AC fished the Wagtail Pool at Float Fish Farm Fishery and Dave Pearson won with a fine 141lb 6oz. Second was Mick Linnell on 97lb 5oz, then came George Scally and Gordon Harmer both with 71lb 3oz.

On the Two Island Pool, the East Delph Match Group caught well. Jim Garratty won with 74lb from peg 27. Runner-up with 66lb was Kevin Peacock.
