Have your say

At long last a few of our local waters have started to produce some reasonable pike fishing.

The likes of the Forty Foot and Twenty Foot drains, Glassmoor Bank and North Level Drain are well worth a visit.

Holbeach rod Ryan Lawrence put a fine 16lb 14oz specimen to the scales taken on a small deadbait from the North Level Drain last week.

In the latest Ramsey AS pike qualifier at Exhibtion bridge, a fine 18lb fish taken by Enzo Serino was enough to win the match. The fish fell to a big deadbait laced with oils.

Runner-up was Joe Furnell with 12lb 9oz followed by Derek Mansell, who had two small specimens for 11lb 7oz.

Gales pushing 60mph at Rookery Waters saw weights drop off rapidly in the latest open on Magpie Pool.

Top rod from peg 30 was Stewart Bracey with 60lb.

Vince Cross finished second on 57lb 8oz followed by Tony McGregor with a level 50lb.
