Over the past couple of weeks there have been some fine nets of tench taken from the Forty Foot drain and on Sunday in the Ramsey AS match those fishing for the Coakley Memorial Trophy fished on The Narrows section saw quite a few more taken.

Leading the way was the ever-consistent Paul Kilby. He drew peg five and put four tench to the scales together with a net of perch all taken on chopped worm weighing in at 19lb 12oz.

His brother Andrew Kilby came second from peg one. He finished with 16lb 1oz, again taken on worm. Third was Simon Wagstaff with 12lb 7oz.


Sensas Mark One rod Alistair Ogilvie finished third in the two-day Riverfest final fished on the River Wye at Hereford.

Matchwinner Tom Lane caught 44lb 10oz over the two days to take the £12,000 winners’prize.
