The River Glen at West Pinchbeck was the venue for Deeping St James AC’s annual Fur and Feather match.

The top pools winner and the first to choose from numerous prizes was David Norville who drew peg 13. He fished the pole with bronze maggot over groundbait to take quality roach to weigh 10lb 15oz.

Second from peg 15 was Steve Cox who finished with 6lb 11oz and third was Carl Fisher on peg six with 5lb 15oz.

Despite a bitterly cold start to the match the fishing on offer at the Ramsey St Mary’s drain was much better than expected.

Top rod with two tench topped up with roach and perch was Andrew Wilding with 9lb 2oz. Andrew Kilby came in second with 8lb 9oz and third was Keith Rayment with 7lb 12oz followed by Paul Kilby on 6lb 10 1⁄2 oz.

With all the Whittlesey anglers catching from the off on Bevills Leam a good match looked on the cards and so it turned out.

Andy Bull took a decent net of roach and ended up on the worm to take a perch and a bonus tench to finish with 8lb 14oz. Second with over 200 roach was John Taylor with 7lb 13oz and third Mike Smith with 6lb 4oz.

Haddon Lodge was the venue for Webb’s AC and winner Alan Forrest put a respectable 21lb 11oz net to the scales taken on red maggot. Cliff Fuller took second place on 11lb 2oz followed by George Bates with 8lb 3oz.
