Peterborough Conservative Club fished the Magpie Pool at Rookery Waters on Saturday with John Newman finishing out in front.

He caught 105lb 3oz from peg two on both pellet and red maggot.

Runner-up with 76lb 11oz of carp was Terry Tribe, then came Alan Porter with 69lb.


Fenland Rods fished Rookery Waters on Sunday and Dick Warrener continued his good start to the season by putting a winning weight of 67lb 6oz to the scales - all caught close in on cat meat. 

Neil Garner was second on 67lb with Mac Campbell third on 65lb 4oz followed by Dave Garner (62lb 4oz).


In the Saturday qualifier on the Jay Lake at Rookery Waters it was Gavin Butler who booked his place in the final. He fished meat tight in to catch 85 carp for 145lb 8oz.

Runner-up was Mark Cross with 129lb 14oz followed by Steve Clarke on 97lb 10oz.

The Thursday £1,000 qualifier, also on the Jay Lake, saw young Tom Edwards finish well clear with 114lb 12oz, again all caught on meat close in.

Rob Anstee came second with 84lb 10oz then it was Ian Ward taking third place with 74lb 4oz.
