It was far from easy on the Willows at Decoy Lakes for those fishing the JVAC match on Sunday.

In fact quite a few found bites at a premium for long periods. Leading the way was in-form Andy Gausden, who had to work really hard for his 59lb 1oz catch.

Drawn on peg 19, he caught a few fish on the pole with pellet early in the match but scored best with red maggot fished on a short line late on.

Runner-up was Will Hadley on peg 10. He fished the pole with red maggot close in for a level 50lb, then came John Savage from peg 25 with 46lb 8oz.

The hot pegs in the mid 20s on the Beastie again produced the goods in the Tuesday Decoy Open.

Top rod was Chris Barley on 25. He caught 115lb 1oz on the pole with both pellet and maggot.

Second was Whittlesey angler Simon Godfrey with 113lb 2oz followed by Mick King with 94lb 7oz.

OVER 55s

The popular Decoy Over 55s match fished on the Elm and Cedar in wet and windy conditions produced some impressive weights, topped by in-form Roy Whincup with 97lb.

Runner-up was Dave Schwinger (82lb 10oz) and third Keith Rayment (75lb 1oz).
