Matchwinner Tribe is solid on the Oak

The Oak Pool on the Decoy Lakes complex was the venue for the latest Conservative Club fixture which saw Terry Tribe top the list in a close match.

He fished a small feeder with banded pellet on the hook to finish with 74lb from peg 11. Tony Ruddy came second from peg one with 65lb 14oz, then came Ian Bradshaw on 62lb 12oz.

OVER 55s

Chris Saunders came up trumps again when winning the Decoy Lakes Over 55s match on the prolific Beastie Lake.

He caught 180lb 15oz of skimmers, barbel, F1s and some big carp on cat meat fished close in on peg nine.

Second on peg 18 was Steve Dorks with 165lb, then came Denis Sambridge on 17 with 114lb 9oz.

JVAC

The Willow Pool at Decoy was the venue for the latest JVAC match which saw Ian Frith on unfancied peg 13 take first place with 87lb 5oz. He fished banded pellet on the pole. Runner-up was Perry Briggs on peg 25 with 85lb 4oz, followed by John Savage with 77lb 14oz.

DECOY OPEN

The Decoy Lakes Open was spread over the Horseshoe and Lou’s Pool, with the latter producing most of the leading weights.

It was Denis Law on Lou’s peg seven who took the honours, fishing sweetcorn over micro pellet for 176lb 10oz.

Just round the corner on peg five was runner-up Wayne Shepherd with 133lb 8oz, then came Sam Hopkins on peg 11 with 117lb.

In fourth place was Simon Dow on Horseshoe 17 with 112lb 14oz.

MEMORIAL MATCH

The 25th anniversary of the Ralph Webb “Dunnamore” Memorial match, organised by Trevor Dew, was fished on the Yew Lake at Decoy on Saturday.

Despite the poor conditions there was some good sport to be had from the noted hot pegs and there is now a new name on the shield as Gareth Purnell took top spot fishing the long pole for 138lb.

Guy Dew came in second with 132lb, followed by Ernie Lowbridge on 127lb.
