City rod Lee Kendall can’t put a foot wrong right now.
Hot on the heels of his fine success in last week’s Railway National at Makins Fishery, he returned to the local match-fishing scene on Sunday and completely dominated the JVAC match on the Beastie Lake.
Drawn on fancied peg 26, Kendall decided to concentrate on the margins as a long pole line over to the small island was out of the question due to the very strong winds.
His tactics of heavy feed with casters close in to the nearside bank saw him catch all day, netting carp close to double figures and barbel for 168lb 4oz.
Runner-up from peg 18 was Chris Saunders with 141lb 8oz followed by Andy Kelk with 121lb 6oz.
Fenland Rods were back on the Decoy complex on Saturday fishing the Day Ticket Lake, which has been spruced up and renamed the Damson Pool.
Kevin Lee was back to his best form, topping the field with 78lb 14oz. He fished cat meat on a short pole line.
Runner-up was Mac Campbell fishing similar tactics, followed by Tony Nesbitt on 67lb 8oz.
Yaxley, Holme & District AA, Raveley Drain: 1 Keith Rounding 4lb 11oz; 2= John Furnell and Frank Bevilacqua 2lb 14oz.
