One of the few fisheries that allows floating baits is Kingsland Fishery out at Turves. The Kingsland Small Lake saw the Deeping St James club fishing for the Jim Measures Memorial Trophy and as expected those fishing dog biscuit or bread had the best of the action.

Leading the way from corner peg seven was Jon Bowland who fished hair-rigged floating dog biscuit to catch carp to double figures throughout the five-hour match to finish with 149lb.

Runner-up on peg 14 was David Marzell with 97lb 8oz and third was Mike Smith on peg six with 79lb 13oz.

Stamford rod George Bates continued his good run of form in the Webb’s AC matches by taking pole position in the club’s latest fixture on the Match Pool at Stretton Lakes. He alternated between soft pellet and red maggot to finish well clear on 43lb 11oz.

Runner-up was Gordon Harmer with 22lb 14oz and third Ken Allum on 16lb 4oz.

Cock Inn AC, Lou’s Lake, Decoy: 1 Chris Shortland 93lb 8oz; 2 Bob Mills 66lb 8oz; 3 Steve Smith 49lb 4oz.

Decoy Lakes Over 55s, Willow Pool: 1 Danny Carlton 131lb 2oz; 2 Mike King 130lb 11oz; 3 Steve Dorks 128lb 6oz.
