North View Fishery at Gedney Hill was the venue for the latest Webb’s AC club match which saw Gordon Harmer a clear winner.
He topped the field with 54lb 13oz of carp taken on the pole close in with meat.
Ray Gregory came second - he fished prawns for 23lb 13oz - then came Mick Linnell, who weighed in 23lb 4oz - all taken on red maggot.
Despite the bad weather forecast for Saturday it turned out to be a pleasant day out at Pidley for those fishing the latest Rookery Waters Open match.
Gavin Butler took the top spot from peg 31. He started shallow on 6mm pellet two feet deep to catch carp and brown goldfish before switching to worms and casters down the left-hand edge to finish with 96lb 2oz.
Runner-up was Steve Tyler from peg three with 83lb 4oz followed by Sean Higginbottom with 79lb 14oz.
Anglers will be pleased to note that the Thursday Qualifiers for the big £2,000 summer final starts at the end of the month at Rookery. The first takes place on April 28.
The weather spoilt sport for the few brave enough to fish all day in the Over 60s match on the Jay Pool. Topping the field was in-form Tony Dawson with 67lb 8oz. Runner-up was Roy Whincup on 52lb 4oz and third Dennis Jarvis with 45lb 10oz.
FLOAT FISH FARM
The Wednesday Over 60s match at Float Fish Farm Fishery saw a small field struggle.
Stan Dow won with 44lb 8oz followed by Bob Burton on 36lb and Vince Hull with 27lb 10oz.
Darren Jackson won the open match at Float Fish Farm on Sunday on the Two Island Pool with 97lb 13oz. Runner-up was Stan Dow on 68lb 8oz, followed by Gordon Harmer on 64lb 14oz.
