Get Hooked on Fishing, a national angling charity, are appealing to local anglers for help.
The charity, which helps boost the confidence of youngsters through fishing, wants to start a new project in the Peterborough area.
They had a trial run on Orton waters a few weeks ago and it went very well. Now they want to follow it up with a more involved scheme but need help setting it up.
Sarah Collins, the charity’s chief executive officer, said: “We are hoping to run a number of programmes in the Peterborough area and would love to hear from licensed angling coaches, angling volunteers and non-angling volunteers who would like to help us over the coming months and hopefully even years!”

There are several big matches taking place this weekend. Top of the list is the Ivan Marks Memorial event taking place at Ferry Meadows. It’s a feeder only match which has attracted some of the best feeder anglers in the country.
It’s well worth popping in and strolling round the lakes to se them in action.
Also on Sunday there’s a charity match at Float Fish Farm and the good news is there are still a few tickets left.
It’s going to be a good day out in good company and all for a worthy cause. Give the fishery a call for all the details.
