Conditions were awful but the fish did seem to want to feed in the third round of the Cock Inn Winter League on the Four Islands Pool at Decoy Lakes.

Top rod from peg five was Paul Faulkner, who caught steadily all day with maggots on the pole to weigh in carp and barbel for 59lb 10oz.

Second was Steve Smith with 46lb 12oz followed by Bob Mills on 31lb 14oz.

I have not heard a lot about Biggin Lake on the outskirts of Oundle through the summer months but it would seem a few Peterborough anglers have been enjoying some reasonable silver fish action at the water lately.

Top rod in the latest match there was Amer Jawad, who caught 7lb of roach on caster then switched to a long pole line to pick up a few bonus bream for 15lb 11oz.

Runner-up Roy Coleman caught a mixed bag of roach and skimmers for 12lb 10oz, followed by Mark Goodsir on 8lb 12oz.

Top rod in the Webb’s AC match on the Horseshoe Lake at Float Fish Farm with 46lb 6oz was Peter Telszewski, who took carp to 3lb. Runner-up was Gordon Harmer on 26lb 3oz followed by Neil Bourne with 19lb 8oz.
