Yaxley, Farcet, Holme and Dostrict AC fished their latest match on the picturesque Eldernell Lake.

Although the club very rarely fish lakes, Lionel Whaley put his stillwater experience to great use to make it four wins out of four this season. He fished luncheon meat in the margins, catching carp and roach to 6lb for 68lb 15oz.

Runner-up was Frank Bevilacqua with 44lb 8oz and third John Furnell with 28lb 7ozs.


Buttonhole Fishery produced some much improved action than of late for Fenland Rods.

Out in front was Dave Garner on peg four. His luncheon meat approach gave him 161lb 6oz and a £72 Golden Peg pay-out. Second was Mac Campbell with 136lb 2oz and third Peter Parlett with 77lb.


City rod Dale Stones won the Oakham fixture on the Yew Pool at Decoy. He drew corner peg 16 and caught barbel on red maggot close in for 126lb 12oz. Dave Rowell, also a city rod, had 101lb 6oz for third place.
