Mac Campbell’s hot form continued on Sunday when he won the Fenland Rods club fixture on the Jay Lake at Rookery Waters at Pidley.

He drew one of the fancied pegs in the middle section and fished pellet close in for 126lb 4oz.

Dave Garner was second with 117lb 12oz. Then came Matthew Lutkin (86lb 14oz), and Mel Lutkin (85lb).


Mark Pollard, one of the country’s top anglers, won the Rookery Waters Open on Jay Lake from peg 43. He fished a long pole line across to the reeds with banded pellet and finished with 181lb 14oz, a fishery record for the pool this season.

Runner-up was Simon Godfrey with 115lb and Rob Anstee third with 103lb 10oz.
