In the Saturday open match at Rookery Waters fished on the Magpie Pool it was Peterborough rod Ben Townsend who finished out in front.

Fishing and feeding luncheon meat close in he caught small carp to weigh in 135lb 10oz from peg three.

Runner-up was John Preedy from Stamford with 121lb 12oz. and third was Sean Coaten with 111lb 8oz.

March angler Kevin Peacock is a hard man to beat at Rookery Waters and in the Thursday open match on the Magpie Pool he again proved to be too strong for the opposition.

He won with 194lb 8oz using paste in the margins over corn to catch carp to 8lb.

Shaun Nelson was just behind with 192lb 8oz, with Steve Dorks third on 162lb 10oz.

Another angler in form making it back-to-back wins was John Belshaw in the regular Wednesday Over 60s match fished on the Jay Lake.

He opted for a pellet and corn approach to catch a 70lb 12oz winning bag.

Second was Keith Rayment with 66lb 12oz, followed by Dave Lack on 58lb 11oz.
