Lee Kendal had been out of the local match fishing scene for a few weeks but bounced back in fine style to win the JVAC match on the Willows at Decoy.

He caught well on the long pole with pellet and maggot from peg 29 putting 85lb 1oz to the scales.

Runner-up off the next peg was Roger Gowler. He fished similar tactics for 75lb then came Will Hadley, who drew end peg 35 and weighed in 68lb 9oz.


It was a difficult day on the Beastie Pool for those fishing the Tuesday Open.

Spalding rod Steve Pell topped the field with 48lb 5oz from peg 22. He fished the long pole with pellet netting carp and F1s.

Chris Barleywas second on 40lb 14oz followed by Steve Clarke with 40lb 3oz.

On the Six Islands on Saturday Steve Freeman won from peg 12 putting 134lb 6oz to the scales - all his fish falling to a long pole line with luncheon meat. Runner-up was Tom Edwards with 88lb 8oz followed by Rob Goodson on 81lb 4oz.


The Over 55s match on Six Islands on Friday was won by Tom Wilson, the Spalding rod with 73lb 8oz. Stan Dow came second with 67lb 8oz and Gus Gausden third with 63lb 9oz.
