Fenland Rods fished their annual pairs competition on the Cedar Pool at Decoy Lakes.

Kev Lee and Mac Campbell took the honours with Lee catching 142lb 6oz from peg 18 and Campbell 81lb 15oz from peg 13.

Lee, once again showing his mastery of cat meat fishing close in, was also the individual winner.


The fifth round of the Cock Inn AC club championship - fished on the Willow Pool at Decoy - produced a fifth different winner.

This time it was Burt Currie in top spot with 74lb 12oz from peg 29. He pole fished cat meat to the island.

Runner-up was Gary Sell from peg 21 with 69lb 8oz, with Steve Smith on 65lb from peg 33.


Deeping St James Angling Club were at Gedney Hill North on Sunday fishing North View Lakes.

Match secretary Ray Torrington drew peg three and fished a banjo feeder with hair-rigged pellet to the island to catch fish throughout the match to weigh in 118lb 2oz.

Runner-up was Alan Jopling. He caught on the feeder to the island then switched to the margins to finish with 67lb 3oz and Andy Wilson was third from peg 14 with 53lb 15oz.


There was a good turnout for the Float Fish Farm Saturday Open, but unfortunately the wind made for a difficult day.

Mark Fountain persevered on the pole with pellet and corn to win with 47lb 5oz from peg eight on Two Islands.

Richard Jarmany was second with 41lb 13oz followed by Ted Rowe with 36lb 10oz.


The following day it was the turn of the East Delph Match group to try their hand on the same venue.

They did a little better with Wally Warboys topping the list with a very respectable 86lb 8oz taken on the feeder.

Gordon Parker came in second with 75lb followed by Ian Frith on 71lb 8oz.
