A Peterborough powerlifter has been selected to represent Great Britain at the world championships.
Andy Hutchings (39), who has been lifting weights for 15 years, will contest the Masters 1 Under 120kg class at the IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships in Salo, Finland, in June.
Hutchings earned his place in the GB team after finishing second in the British Masters Championships last month with a 742.5kg total. He also won the East Midlands Championships in February.
The IPF (International Powerlifting Federation)is the biggest powerlifting body in the world and over 1,100 lifters from over 50 countries will be competing.
