One fishery that never seems to hit the headlines, yet is full of fish, is Northey Park Fishery - not the big specimen pool, but the smaller pleasure lakes.

I suspect most of the regulars like to keep their best catches quiet, but talking to owner Elliott Symak at the weekend the fishing has been good and well worth a visit.

If you are after a spot of carp fishing give the Blacketts Pool a try on pellet or maggot, or for tench and carp the Holly Pool will be the one to head for.

The fishery is on the outskirts of the city centre just off the North Bank. A point to remember though is that it’s closed on a Monday and Tuesday.
