Allsop wins British silver at Grafham

Peterborough Triathlon Club (PACTRAC) member Dave Allsop won a silver medal at the 2016 British Age Group Middle Distance Championships held at Grafham Water.

He completed the 1.2-mile swim, 56.7-mile bike ride and 13.1-mile run in a time of 4:38:28 to take second place in his 50-54 year age group.

Steve Skelhon competed in the Ironman Lanzerote, considered by many to be one of the toughest Ironman events in the world.

He completed the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run in 13:27:18 for 1020th place overall and 91st in his age group.

Abi Schofield tackled the Barcelona 70.3 - her first half-ironman - and was 11th in her age group with a time of 5:57:14.

This year’s summer PACTRAC Mini Series at Oundle (swim 400 yards, bike 10 miles, run 3.5 miles) started last week and Paul Vernon enjoyed a comfortable win from a field of 14.

Jonathan Oakey (PACTRAC) won the boys youth race at the Nottingham Junior Triathlon.

Clubmate Hanna Bassett was sixth in the female youth race.

In the Tri 3 category Katie Tasker was fourth and Olivia Corner was also fourth in Tri 2.

The results for Corner and Tasker will stand them in good stead for the upcoming National Qualifier at Saffron Walden on Sunday June 5.
