City beat Broxbourne 3-1 at Bretton Gate. They are one of three teams to have won their opening two fixtures

City started the slower of the two teams and had to defend a barrage of short corners before conceding a goal from a penalty corner.

City responded well, increased their intensity and drew level from a well worked team goal. Hannah Knotts played a huge part in the goal which Wells, a close season recruit from Spalding, finished well.

It stayed 1-1 until the break, but City grew stronger in the second-half. Player-of-the-match Ellie Bolsover, Anna Faux and Lucy Dakin all played well going forward and a terrific move involving Verity Allen, Faux and captain Robyn Gribble led to Katy Lee firing City ahead.

Goalkeeper Holly Riches made a couple of fine stops, but City were largely dominant and it was no surprise when a counter-attack started by Dakin and continued by Gribble led to a second goal for Wells.

City travel to bottom club Sevenoaks next Saturday (October 6).
