Peterborough Artist Printmaker John McGowan has won the Portland Print Prize at the Open 16 Exhibition at the Alfred East Gallery, Kettering.
His print ”Rotherhithe Warehouse” was one of three out of 253 works submitted to be awarded a prize. John’s two other works are also on display in an exhibition that runs until the 14th May. The print is one of a series of six on the theme of the London Docklands and the whole set has been acquired by The Museum of London for their permanent collection. You can see another of the Dockland prints in the current Peterborough Open 2016 at the City Gallery, Peterborough, and the work can be seen in its entirety as part of “The Painter and The Printmaker” exhibition to be held at Stamford Arts Centre Gallery, 25th June to 12th July.
