New dates for the Willow Festival in Peterborough are to be announced soon.
An announcement made on Facebook said that a handshake agreement has been made to re-locate the three-day music festival, and further details are expected to be given shortly.
The popular event is having to move from the Embankment this year after a dispute between organiser Mark Ringer and Peterborough City Council.
It was due to be held on July 8 to July 10 but that will now change.
The Facebook post read: “The Willow Festival - Cambs is indeed saved, but as many of you may have guessed, we are having to move both the location and the dates, not by choice, but because we had been left with few options where dates were concerned especially.
“It will still be in Peterborough, it will still be as spectacular (indeed, even more so now) and all tickets will be honoured.
“If you cannot make the new dates or do not wish to attend the new venue, then you are more than welcome to a refund, no problem.
“We are very fortunate that four separate venues came forward to offer their help with re-location, and we have now made a choice as to where to go “and we’re putting the contracts in place as we write, so cannot make further announcements until the deal is signed off, but a handshake deal has been done and dates booked.
“We will make those announcements as soon as we are legally allowed too, in a matter of days now.
“What we can say is that all this publicity has landed us more finance and backing than ever before and the show will be much better, and you’ll get a whole lot more for your ticket price.
“All bands that have been booked will be offered exactly the same time slots at the new venue and we’ll be contacting you all individually over the next day or so.
“We’ll also be contacting all concession holders.
“We’ll get full news to you as soon as we can, please bear with us, it’ll all come good :)
“If you have specific enquiries over and above what we’ve answered here, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
