The outgoing Mayor of Peterborough has raised between £32,000 to £35,000 for the mayor’s charities in his year in the role.
Councillor John Peach and mayoress Janet Martin will see the money split between Age UK Peterborough, Hope Into Action, Scout and Guide Movement and Combined Cadet Force after their 12 months attending events and representing the city.
The mayor and mayoress ended their year’s service by attending the Mayor’s Ball at the Holiday Inn on Saturday.
Cllr Peach said: “It has been a real privilege and honour to be the mayor of the city of Peterborough during the last 12 months.
“I have attended many interesting events and met many marvellous hard-working people out in the community.
“And as mayor I’ve had the good fortune to visit local schools.
“I’m sure David Sanders will make an excellent mayor and hopefully move Peterborough yet further forward.”
