Regarding the tragic death of Cathedral Chorister James Trickey on Storeys Bar Road.
I read of the above with complete sadness and horror.
My deepest sympathy to this young man’s loss of a life of talent, honour and fulfilment.
It is more than a tragic waste.
As a keen, daily cyclist myself, I challenge Peterborough City Council to honour their responsibilities to provide much more safety for the cyclists in this city and also to cyclists who would use their bicycles more if conditions were safer.
What, for example, is the provision for a safe cycle route to the new Waitrose? How have the city council provided more for cyclists in the last, say, five years and what do they hope to achieve to provide safety in order to lower the risks?
As cyclists in the city we need and demand much more.
