Phil Gamble, 55, took action at his automotive and DIY accessories store this week after being bombarded with players hunting for digital creatures.

The sign reads: “Pokemon hunters. Pikachu has left the building.

“On the plus side I have lots of products to help you get your life back.”

Phil, who owns Phil’s Mart, in Whittlesey, Peterborough, added: “I never really see youngsters inside my shop but they’ve started venturing in since this game has started.

“I put the sign up just for a bit of fun and the majority of people who come in don’t actually understand it.

“Kids have been raring to go and catch them, at least it is getting the kids outside I suppose.

“But they’ve just gone from being inside and playing on computers, to being outside and doing the same.”

Pokemon Go involves players searching for digital creatures in real-life locations on their smartphones.
