Storm Ciara hits Peterborough and Cambridgeshire: IN PHOTOS

Storm Ciara caused a great deal of damage yesterday (Sunday) with high winds wreaking havoc on the roads and in people's homes.

The emergency services were kept busy with a number of trees falling on Peterborough's, Cambridgeshire's and Lincolnshire's roads, not to mention a collapsed stand at Wisbech Town Football Club. Rail services were also massively impacted and may continue to be so this morning. Passengers should check ahead to see which services are running. Meanwhile, the M11 between junctions 9 and 11 and the A505 from the Whittlesford and Fowlmere approach to the M11 remained closed this morning. This was while emergency services and partners worked to secure a section of roof on one of the aircraft hangars at Duxford Imperial War Museum. However, the roads have now re-opened. Hundreds of homes are also still without power The amber weather warning issued by the Met Office has now ended, with gusts of more than 65mph being recorded.
