Vigil in Peterborough for Orlando victims
A vigil will be held in Peterborough tonight (Tuesday, June 14) in solidarity with the people who lost their lives in the recent Orlando shootings.
The Peterborough LGBT Equality Council is hosting the event at the Holocaust Memorial, St John the Baptist, Cathedral Square, from 7.30pm until late.
People are asked to bring candles and messages of love and support.
The vigil follows an attack by gunman Omar Mateen at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, early last Sunday which killed 49 people and injured 53.
