Yousseph “Chico” Slimani, a finalist in 2012’s Dancing On Ice, was joined by X Factor runner-up from 2006 Ray Quinn and England rugby legend Kyran Bracken - both former Dancing on Ice champions - for the event, held to mark the launch of Celebrities on Ice.

The show is coming to Peterborough Arena in the New Year, from January 24 to 27, and will be headed up by Chico and Kyran, with the full line up still to be confirmed.

Among those who secured their place for the entertainment were Samantha Hawkins (41), from March, and her daughter Charlie (13).

Mrs Hawkins said: “We have seen Chico before and my daughter wanted to come see him.”

Charlie said: “I’m a very big fan. He’s fit.”

She added: “He’s a good singer and entertaining.”

Mrs Hawkins said: “He’s really good live.”

Vivienne Vincent (48), who had travelled as part of group from Ilford in Essex to see Ray Quinn, said she was excited to see the ex-Brookside star return to ice skating.

She said: “I’m really pleased to see Ray Quinn on the ice again. He’s an excellent skater.”
