People can pay £12 for the first item and £6 each for additional bulky household items to be collected by South Kesteven District Council (SKDC).

Coun Nick Craft, SKDC portfolio holder for the environment, said: “We know that transporting items to our Household Waste and Recycling Centre (in Bourne) is not always possible for all residents.

“Therefore, we advise residents to ring and arrange a collection so we can take away your unwanted electrical items and household furniture.

“This way, you can do your part to help keep your streets and neighbourhoods clean and tidy.”

Although radiators, builder’s rubble, bricks, concrete, paving slabs and garden furniture, can’t be collected under the service, the council has encouraged people to donate usable furniture and other items to charity shops.
