Urgent appeal to raise funds and donations after charity is inundated with pregnant cats
Spike was one of the first kittens to arrive after being found abandoned as a new-born.
He was wet and very cold and his future looked bleak but, thanks to a kind member of public, he was rushed to Wood Green where one of its dedicated volunteer foster carers, already looking after a mum cat and her 10-day-old kittens, took him in.

Gail Lees, volunteer co-ordinator for the cat welfare rehoming department, said: “We are delighted that Spike has been welcomed by his new cat mum, Hazel. Without her his life would have been in jeopardy.
“To support his recovery we do need specific, jelly-based kitten food though, and the sudden influx of pregnant cats and new kittens means that we would really appreciate support to buy more supplies.
“If members of the public have any tins of kitten food that they can donate or if they can offer financial contributions, towards helping the many cats and kittens in our care, we would be incredibly grateful.”

If you can help Spike and kittens like him, you can donate kitten food to any of the charity’s eight shops or text URGENT SPIKE to 70300 to donate £3. Texts are charged at £3 plus your standard network rate.
